  • The annual dues statements have been mailed out already, however the Special Assessment for 2013 has been canceled.
  • Please pay the amount on your statement less the $60.00 Special Assessment.
  • The Road Repair will be discussed at the Annual Meeting in May.
  • Thank you for your prompt payment.
  • If you have already mailed your payment please send our Treasurer an email stating if you would like your check returned or cashed and a $60 refund issued to you. Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope we can still have your support in May in regards to the road repair.

Snow emergencies in Canton

A snow emergency is declared for the purpose of clearing streets for snow removal and to allow accessibility for police and fire vehicles to respond to emergencies. In declaring a snow emergency, consideration must be given to the amount of snow fall and/or severity of weather, along with the ability to commit department resources to ensure compliance.

Canton Public Safety declares a snow emergency when snow accumulation of generally five inches or more is predicted. The following prevailing weather conditions are also taken into consideration:
  • Duration of the snow event
  • High winds, drifting, blizzard-like conditions
  • Warming conditions
  • Sleet, freezing rain, etc.
During a snow emergency parking is prohibited on all streets in Canton to provide adequate access for plows and emergency vehicles. Voluntary compliance is appreciated, but the traffic order does provide for enforcement action to be taken up to and including vehicles being ticketed and/or towed.

Snow plowing reminders:
Please move your vehicles off off the street for plowing. If the Twp declares a snow emergency your vehicle must remain off the street until it expires.
The Contractor has 24 hours to plow once 2 inches has accumulated.
Salting of the intersections is by request only, please email the board.
Please do NOT plow snow into the street, this only defeats the purpose of hiring a contractor to plow and it causes ice build ups on the streets.
